Call it the Big Game affect. Looking at last week’s top recipes, football fans clearly influenced recipe choices between February 1-7, 2013. Who doesn’t enjoy Buffalo wings and dips while watching TV gridiron action? And since chicken is a favorite staple for Allrecipes’ home cooks, Garlic Chicken Breasts grabbed the spotlight as the week’s #1 new recipe. Here’s the rundown:
- The #1 new recipe for the week was Garlic Chicken Breasts based on page views, prints and Recipe Box saves
- Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings (yes, again) received the largest increase in page views last week and also saw the largest increase in prints week-over-week prints, an 84% change

Top Search Terms Last Week
The fastest-growing week over week search term driving traffic to the site last week was bacon-wrapped smokies. Other fast growing search terms driving traffic to Allrecipes.com included chicken wing dip, 7 layer dip, 7 layer taco dip, and buffalo wing recipe. Impossible to separate football fans from their dips!
The fastest growing internal search terms week over week followed a similar pattern and included super bowl, seven layer dip, 7 layer dip, and buffalo chicken dip.
Video Insights
When reviewing the week’s starring videos, home cooks also watched those with a Super Bowl connection. Chef John's Baked Crab and Artichoke Dip served in a bread bowl topped the charts as the most popular new video based on video page views per day during the week. Other top video performers included:
- The Best Meatballs was the top performer for overall video page views
