Weekly Kitchen Insights – Recipes and Trends from Allrecipes.com

Soup’s on! Winter days and flu season put chicken soup and tried-and-true comfort food dishes on top of the week’s recipes and search terms, plus January is National Soup Month. Hard to resist the convenience of chicken soup prepared in a slow cooker and an easy meatloaf sparked with brown sugar, mustard and ketchup. Allrecipes.com cooks are savvy with seasonings! Take a look at what I discovered was popular last week:
  • Easy Meatloaf received the largest increase in page views last week, plus also saw the largest week-over-week increase in prints week

Top Search Terms Last Week
Checking out last week’s most popular search terms also turned up a lot of familiar comfort food—and economical--meal ideas. The top search term driving traffic to the site was turkey burger recipe.

Other fast growing search terms driving traffic to the site included baked pork chop recipes, spaghetti squash recipe, chicken Parmesan recipe, and ground turkey recipes. For internal search terms, the top terms included bok choy, cod, baked tilapia, and granola bars. That’s evidence to me there are a lot of health-minded cooks out there!

I’ll have a run-down of Allrecipes’ most popular videos for you with next week’s recap. Until then, January is a terrific month to experiment. What new recipe are you going to try this month?
