New Allrecipes Video Cookbook app for iOS brings revolutionary how-to video interface to the iPad and hundreds of new, easy-to-use videos to the iPhone

Allrecipes’ mobile apps are the most popular recipe apps across all the major platforms, with more than 15 million downloads worldwide. Today we are excited to introduce the newest member of our app family: Allrecipes Video Cookbook for iPad and iPhone, available for free on iTunes.

Video Cookbook on iPad is the only how-to cooking video app of its kind with recipe directions displayed right next to and synced with the video, allowing you to play any part of the video just by touching the corresponding
step in the directions. This app is your visual step-by-step guide while cooking in the kitchen. Gone are the days of “watch first, then cook” and scrolling aimlessly to replay a step.

As you hustle and bustle to plan and prepare your holiday feasts, we want to help make the process as easy and stress-free as possible by ensuring you have access to our tools anytime, anywhere. Video Cookbook on iPhone is the perfect pocket resource, with 700 high-quality and top-rated recipe videos right at your fingertips, making watching on-the-go a breeze.

Allrecipes Video Cookbook is your go-to resource this holiday season. According to Allrecipes’ annual Holiday Attitudes and Behavior Survey, 36% of home cooks plan to use video during the holidays for recipe inspiration and cooking help. Additionally, 26% of home cooks said they watch cooking videos on their smartphones and tablets.

Some additional features you’ll enjoy with the one-of-a-kind Video Cookbook:

  • Recipe directions displayed prominently alongside and synced with video for easy reference while cooking (iPad only)
  • More than 700 high-quality how-to cooking videos from popular Allrecipes web shows Food Wishes and Recipes in Motion, with more videos added every week
  • Videos organized by dish type, with a "Featured" section for seasonally-relevant recipe ideas
  • Recipe detail page includes ratings, reviews, prep/cook/ready-in time, and nutritional information

This sounds like a great app and something I'd be really interested in. Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone (or any Apple devices)
Please don't forget about the rest of us who use other types of smart phones. The Windows Phone platform always seems to get left out. I'd love to see this app available in the Microsoft Marketplace for Windows Phone - also, would love for the AR Dinner Spinner app for WP7 to get updated with all the cool features that the iPhone version has!

Love, love, love it! Beautiful on my retina Ipad! I really like how the directions move along with the video. Thank you!

I love the site and usually visit it daily. I have the allrecies dinner spinner pro app on my iPhone and iPad, but I refuse to become a pro member because your mobile app allrecipes dinner spinner pro is still not updated to work with the Google Nexus 7 tablet. This android device has been out since July, and still there is no update to make it compatible with this tablet! it looks like the last update was in October, but still not compatible with the Google Nexus 7.
