The fifth International Food Blogger Conference, a Foodista.com and Zephyr Adventures production, is right around the corner and we’re excited to have Allrecipes.com as an integral part of the weekend! Be part of the fun in Portland, Oregon, on August 24-26, 2012, for an exciting event filled with informative sessions, speakers, gourmet food, wine, and more!
You can also catch the Allrecipes team at the conference’s first-held Career Fair and Industry Networking session. This session was created as an opportunity for bloggers seeking to advance their careers in the food world. Bloggers will have the chance to make key connections with editors, publishers, PR firms, and other food-related businesses during this one-and-a-half-hour period (see the entire list of company participants here).
In our eBook Publishing technology session, join Allrecipes’ own Judith Dern, senior manager of digital books, plus publishing industry leaders Adam Salomone (Harvard Common Press), and Amy Worley (VP of Marketing at Andrews McMeel Publishing) to shine a light on the world of digital publishing. Moderating the panel to shine a light on the world of digital publishing will be Martha Holmberg (Portland-based journalist and cookbook author). They'll take you on a deep dive in content creation (on both the publishing house and self-publishing side), e-book sales/marketing, distribution, and monetization, and what the overall landscape looks like for cookbooks, cookbook publishing, and recipe content.
On Sunday, watch Chef John Mitzewich, star and creator of award-winning Food Wishes, now produced by Allrecipes, as he wields his knives and knowledge in a live cooking demonstration. Chef John’s multiple award-winning blog has become one of the most visited video recipe sites online, and is home to more than 550 original recipe videos. Chef John is also the most-watched cooking teacher on YouTube, with more than 100,000 subscribers and 30 million views. Food Wishes has won Saveur Magazine's Best Food Blog Award two years in a row. The cooking demo is part of a three-hour Food Photography session with The New York Times’ renowned food photographer Andrew Scrivani. Chef John will be preparing four fabulous dishes for attendees to then photograph with Andrew.
