Bloggers and food! Could there be a more delicious pairing? This weekend at BlogHer Food 2012, the fourth annual conference hosted by BlogHer, Allrecipes.com’s communications team will taste and discover, learn and share, along with 500 avid food bloggers attending from across the country and Canada. The conference is a few steps from our office at Seattle’s historic Fairmont Olympic Hotel, so we’re super excited! Woohoo!
Along with the mixing and mingling and networking to the max with all these food bloggers, our team will be attending sessions and panel discussions at the conference. Some very cool topics too! How about Food Photography Beyond Pretty, Taking Control of Your Blog’s Destiny, Fun Food Blogging: Humor’s Place in Food Writing, and Vintage Food and Drink: Making a Modern Meatloaf, Martini or Macaroni & Cheese, and Food Bloggers as Storytellers. Awesome, right? Can we attend them all?! There's a special BlogHer Food scavenger hunt too, that will help visiting bloggers discover Seattle's food treasures.
Of course, there will be a tour of Pike Place Market and a lot of practical discussions too: Basic Copyright, How Cookbook Photography Differs from Blog Photography, How to Shoot a Video on a Budget, the Collaborative Process Behind Publishing a Cookbook, and more! Social activism through blogs is also a hot topic. Good stuff!
Allrecipes is a sponsor of the Saturday night ‘after party.’ We’ll have a cool photo booth set-up with silly props from the kitchen for pix and giggles and guaranteed fun! On Sunday morning, bloggers are invited to our kitchen for mimosas and treats from some of Seattle’s best bakeries. Chef John of Food Wishes has some food tricks up his sleeves too, to share with our guests. Watch for pix here next week to check out the fun!
